El Salamlek Palace hotel Alexandria was built in 1892 by H.H. Khedive Abbas Helmi II (r.1892-1914) as a hunting lodge for His Hungro Austrian wife: Gawidan Hanem Abdallah. The lodge was surrounded by a man made jungle stocked with games for the hunting pleasure of H.H. Khedive and his guests. The palace was built by The Greek Architect Dimitri Fabricious Pasha and was conceived as an Austrian hunting lodge to suit the Austrian educated Khedive ‘s taste. Over several years the management have done there utmost to renovate and decorate the beautiful palace to recreate the luxury and glamour of the Royal Egyptian era for guests to enjoy in Harmony with El Salamlek hospitality.

El Salamlek Palace has 20 rooms and luxurious suite, each with its own personality. The Mawlana Suite with its five room and large terrace can entertain 100 persons, while the Sahebat Al Esma Suite can have up to 70 persons. The Dawlet El Raise Suite has two rooms and Afandina Suite three. Further its the Princess Suite, the Saheb El-Maaly’s Suite, the Bey’s Rooms and the Wassifat’s Rooms – all in its Royal standards. His Majesty King Farouk Office is now Al Farouk Restaurant and the Al Farida Restaurant over looking the sea and gardens serve international and Italian dishes to live music.
